terms of service

the short version

maybs is a social app for making plans with your friends. these terms are the agreement between you and maybs about using it. by creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. if you don’t agree, don’t use maybs.

who can use maybs

you must be at least 13 years old to use maybs. if you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission. you also have to be legally able to enter into this agreement where you live.

your account

• you sign in with apple or with google — we don’t store a password for you
• at signup we ask for your name, a username, and your zip code
• keep your info accurate, and keep whichever account you sign in with secure
• you’re responsible for everything that happens under your account
• you can delete your account any time — see our data deletion page

your content

events you create, hype comments, images you upload, and anything else you post is yours. you keep ownership of it.

by posting it, you give maybs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and share that content inside the app so it works the way you’d expect — showing your event to your homies, showing your comment on the hype feed, showing your photos on an event. this license lasts as long as your content is on maybs, and ends when you delete it or delete your account.

you’re responsible for what you post. only post content you have the right to post, and don’t post anything that violates someone else’s rights.

how to behave

don’t use maybs to:

• harass, threaten, bully, or impersonate anyone
• spam people, or send unsolicited promotional stuff
• post illegal content, or anything that promotes illegal activity
• post sexually explicit content, hate speech, or gore
• scrape, reverse engineer, or otherwise mess with the app or our servers
• collect other users’ info without their permission
• create accounts for anyone but yourself, or evade a ban

there is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on maybs. if you post it, we will remove it and we may suspend or permanently terminate your account without warning.

reporting and blocking

every plan, photo, hype comment and profile in maybs can be reported. tap the … on a profile or a plan, or press and hold a hype comment, and choose report. we review every report and act on it — removing content, warning an account, or terminating it.

you can also block anyone from their profile. blocking is immediate and it goes both ways: you stop seeing their plans, photos, hype and rsvps, and they stop seeing yours. they are not told. you can see everyone you have blocked, and unblock them, from your own profile.

ending things

you can stop using maybs and delete your account whenever you want. we can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, or if we have to for legal or safety reasons. we can also stop offering maybs entirely — it’s an early-stage app and we’ll try to give notice, but we may not always be able to.

no warranties

maybs is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. we don’t promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notifications will always arrive on time. we don’t vet events or users — what happens when you go meet up is on you.

limitation of liability

to the fullest extent allowed by law, maybs and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost plans, or anything that happens at an event you found through the app. our total liability for any claim relating to maybs is limited to $100 usd or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

changes to these terms

we may update these terms as maybs changes. when we do, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app. if you keep using maybs after an update, you’re agreeing to the new terms.
